Ukraine signs agreement to receive Russian gas from Romania
KIEV, Dec 18 (PRIME) -- The operator of the Ukrainian gas pipeline system has signed an agreement with Romania’s Transgaz to receive Russian gas from Southern Europe and Turkey, the Ukrainian company said in a statement on Wednesday.
“Ukrainian Gas Pipeline System Operator and Romania’s Transgaz have signed today an inter-operator agreement and unlocked the trans-Balkan gas corridor,” the statement read.
Ukraine will receive up to 17.8 million cubic meters of gas on the Ukraine–Romania border from January 1 and can send back 15.8 million cubic meters per day.
